The family wanted a native inspired garden with spaces for relaxing, entertaining and spending time together. Privacy from neighbouring properties was important, along with a pool and entertaining area that could become the focus of the backyard during Brisbane summers. They also wanted to retain the existing native character and as much mature vegetation as possible.
The garden now gives the family a collection of outdoor spaces rather than a single backyard. There are places to entertain, swim, relax, play and retreat, all surrounded by the established native landscape that originally gave the property its character. Most importantly, it feels like an extension of the existing home rather than a new garden added around it.
